1.2842 / 90MnCrV8 (3x55x500mm)
1.2842/90MnCrV8 is a manganese alloyed carbon steel, mainly for kitchen knives but of course
very universally applicable, easy to work with, very well suited for forging, black component for our Damascus steel.
Soft annealed
Composition: C:0.9% Si:0.3% Mn:2.0% Cr:0.4% V:0.1%
- Achievable hardness: ~60-63 HRC
- Hardening at 820C° in oil
- Temper 2x one hour at 180C°
