Stocked walnut (Nuss16)

This exclusive handle block made from locally harvested walnut, which grew on the Eisenstraße in Losenstein, was infected with selected mushrooms and refined with great care and patience.
After this natural refinement, the wood was cut into hand-crafted blocks and gently dried before being stabilized with transparent stabilizing resin in a vacuum chamber.
The elaborate stabilization with plastic makes this beautiful piece waterproof and extremely durable.

What does stabilized mean?

The wood offered here is refined through a particularly elaborate stabilization process. First the air is sucked out of the wood with a vacuum, then a specially developed plastic is pressed into the material. The wood is therefore insensitive to food juices, blood, sweat, etc. and therefore very hygienic and does not need to be maintained.
